At AFA Fostering, we understand the importance of support for foster parents. Fostering is an incredibly rewarding role, but it can also bring challenges, and no one should feel they have to manage them alone. That’s why we bring people together through our family fun days, which give carers, children and staff the chance to relax, connect and enjoy each other’s company.

Families share laughs over activities, carers catch up with one another over a cuppa, and children have the space to simply enjoy being kids.

These gatherings highlight the community spirit that runs through AFA. They’re about more than just a day out – they give carers the chance to connect with others who understand fostering, while children feel part of a wider family that values and supports them.

The Importance of Ongoing Support

Support is at the heart of what we do. Alongside family days, AFA offers:

  •  Training designed to give carers confidence and skills
  • Guidance from experienced staff whenever it’s needed
  • Regular opportunities to meet and connect with others in the fostering community.

These touches of support help to make fostering less isolating and ensure that carers always have someone to turn to.
