AFA are actively seeking new and experienced foster carers to provide a nurturing, loving and caring home for children living in Derbyshire and Derby City and other towns in the area. We need foster carers in Ilkeston, Long Eaton, Ripley, Alfreton, Swadlincote and Chesterfield.
What does being a foster carer involve?
As a foster carer you will be trained and supported to care for some of the most vulnerable children in society. These children have suffered abuse and as a consequence cannot live with their families. Fostering can be challenging, but is equally very rewarding, especially when children achieve and develop in areas where they have struggled previously.
Children in need of foster care come from all different backgrounds and ages, from babies through to older teenagers. All have gone through some extreme and unkind treatments at the hands of adults. These children deserve to experience stability, loving and caring families lives, where they can thrive and be supported to achieve to the best of their abilities.
How does AFA support foster carers?
AFA foster carers in Derby and Derbyshire are allocated a qualified social worker. They receive genuine 24/7 support through our local Midlands office based in Castle Donington. Our social workers provide bespoke support to foster carers, depending on their individual needs.
AFA offers comprehensive training and support to foster carers, both before and after approval. This training takes place at local venues within reasonable traveling distance from Derbyshire and Derby City.
AFA is a highly regarded and experienced independent fostering agency. To find out more about joining our family please get in touch.
